Application

Fire detection and Fire alarm systems for Buildings, Public adress systems and Emergency lighting.

 

Fire performance

  • Fire resistant: BS 6387 CWZ, BS 8434-2: 2003, BS EN 50200 PH 120.
  • Fire retardant: BS EN 50266 1 & 2.1, IEC 60332 Part 3 & 1.
  • Low smoke: BS EN 50268, IEC 61034.
  • Halogen free: BS EN 50267, IEC 60754.
  • Low toxicity: BS EN 50267, IEC 60754.
  • Low corrosivity: BS EN 50267, IEC 60754.

 

Design

1. Conductor

  • Bare copper:
  • Solid class 1 (1, 1.5, 2.5 mm²)
  • According BS6360 / IEC 60228

2. Insulation

  • Silicone rubber to BS 7655

3. Uninsulated protective conductor

  • Tinned copper according to BS 6360 (same class and cross-sectional aera as insulated conductor)

4. Tape

  • Aluminium/polyester tape with optional polyester tape

5. Outer sheath

  • Halogen free polyolefin
  • Colour: red or white

They are as defined in BS 7671: 1992

table 4D2A and apply to:

  • maximum conductor temperature = 70 °C
  • nominal frequencies = 50 - 60 Hz
On cable in air, clipped direct at ambient air temperature = 30 °C

  • the data are based on Cos ø = 1
For other laying conditions, refer to BS 7671 standard

  

Bending radius
  • r = 6 x maximum outer diameter (to be doubled during hte laying operations)
