Make the room bigger By doing so, the wall space where radiators or panel heaters were previously mounted can be used for something else, thus allowing you greater freedom when furnishing the room. Under-floor heating therefore can be said to make the room bigger.
Constructional depth a limiting factor When renovating a building, it is usually the constructional depth that is the limiting factor. People do not want to have to carry out expensive, time-consuming work such as raising door sills, adapting doors etc.
Nexans' thin floor solutions Nexans has manufactured thin floor solutions for under-floor heating in renovation.
- Some of these can be installed directly on a combustible surface, such as floor chipboard, and laid in a thin layer of self-levelling compound or directly in tile glue.
- Others can be installed directly under parquet or laminate flooring without using any compound.
- If the available construction depth allows it, traditional heating cables can also be used for renovation purposes.
Quick and easy to regulate A floor in which heating has been installed during renovation is usually very quick and easy to regulate, because the heating cables are located near the top of the floor construction. This is extremely positive, as it results in low energy consumption.

Connection Millidry™ has factory mounted cold lead. This lead is installed in a conduit or similar to the thermostat, which again is connected to the electrical system. All heating cable installations must have ground fault interrupter installed in addition to a circuit breaker. Maximum trip level for the interrupter is 30 mA.

Millimat is well suited for renovation, because of its low building height.
Choose a solution When renovating several factors will impact on the choice of solutions. The following should be clarified:
- What kind of rooms should have floor heating.
- If the whole room should be heated or just the floor itself.
- Whether it should be “dry” or “wet” installation.
- What is the available height ? How much can the floor be elevated?
