Preliminaries

For Nexans, service often begins years before a project  is delivered, with preliminary conception and design done in close cooperation with the customer, drawing on the latest research. This global approach goes far beyond cable and cable accessories, and also integrates transformers and substations.
Preliminary studies are done by teams with long experience in the field, and financial experts are brought in to find the best way of financing a project. Once the design criteria have been set, we strictly follow the plan to the letter. Our ultimate aim is to provide an optimum turnkey solution with minimum technical risk. During the project management phase, we set deadlines and organize teams of specialists for precise tasks. Cross-disciplinary teams include cable producers, contractors and various suppliers.

Follow-up

Before installation, a topographic survey is essential for any project, whether undersea or on land, so as to determine the best cable route in terms of geological or marine conditions, the best kind of soil for high conductivity, and the impact on the environment.  All materials are ordered and scheduled for on-time delivery. Once the site has been prepared, the cable is transported, often using specially designed equipment, then pulled or laid.  Finally, when the necessary joints and support equipment are Installed, the complete system is commissioned and tested before Being handed over to the customer with a full guarantee.

Training

Privatization, deregulation and global expansion have not only Changed the structure of power grids worldwide, they have modified the profile of our customers, as well.
New investors and operators need more than just technology; they want total solutions that will give a high return on investment far into the future. That is why as planners, we are customizing our products to meet customer specifications, natural constraints and environmental concerns.  As integrators, we draw on all of our various resources - engineering, R&D, manufacturing, finance, and marketing - to find total solutions. For megaprojects, we provide feasibility studies, and even long-term financial planning. If the customer requests it, we can also provide training for cable operators and maintenance personnel.  Practical experience is gained alongside our experts on-site during installation, while theoretical knowledge is regularly given in special seminars.
