Gérard Hauser

Chairman and CEO
Gérard Hauser is Chairman and CEO of Nexans since June 2001.
Before joining Alcatel in 1996 to become President of the Cables and Components sector and member of Alcatel's Executive Committee, he held various key positions at Pechiney group. Whilst at Pechiney from 1975 to 1996, he was first Sales Vice President for primary aluminium and CEO of the Trading activities, then CEO of Rolling activities (Pechiney Rhénalu) and finally COO of American National Can (Beverage cans) and Member of the Executive Committee of the group. From 1965 to 1975, he held various positions in Philips group in market research Department and was notably Sales Vice President for professionnal equipment.
Gérard Hauser is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris. He was Maître de Conférences at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris.

Frédéric Vincent

Frédéric Vincent
Chief Operating Officer
In 2006 Frédéric Vincent was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Nexans. From 1978 to 1985 he was a member of a major audit firm. After joining Alcatel in 1986, Frédéric Vincent integrated the Cables and Components sector in 1989, where he was appointed in 1994 Deputy Managing Director (Administration and Finance) of Alcatel's undersea telecommunications activities, and in 1997 of Saft, Alcatel's batteries activity. He became Nexans' Chief Financial Officer in 2000.
Frédéric Vincent is a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales and of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris. He has a Bachelor in Business Law.

Pascal Portevin

Pascal Portevin

Chief Corporate Officer, in charge of Strategic Operations
Until 2003, Pascal Portevin was President of the Telecom Division at Nexans. In 1999, he was appointed Managing Director of the General Market product line with the cables and Components sector of Alcatel after having headed its Telecommunications Cable operations. From 1993 to 1996 he was Chief Executive Officer of Alcatel Fibres Optiques, then Director of Operations of the Optical Fibres product line. From 1990 to 1993 he was Technical Director of Alcatel North America when the Claremont (North Carolina) optical fibres factory was being built. He began his career with Câbles de Lyon in 1985. 
Pascal Portevin is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications.

Yvon Raak

Yvon Raak
Chief Corporate Officer, in charge of Europe Area
Until 2003, Yvon Raak was Presdient of the Energy Division within Nexans. He joined the Cables and Components sector of Alcatel in 1999 as President of the Telecom Products Division within the Executive Committee. From 1997 to 1999 he was Senior Vice President, Strategy & Management, of Alstom Énergie and Chairman and CEO of Alstom Énergie SA. He joined Alstom in 1992 as Director before being appointed Chairman and CEO of European Gas Turbine SA. He began his career with Alcatel as Plant Manager at the Jeumont plant of Câbleries de Lens.
Yvon Raak is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and of the Ecole des Mines.

Wolfgang Bedorf

Wolfgang Bedorf

Executive Vice President Middle East Russia Africa Area
Dr Bedorf started his career in engineering management with AEG AG (later Daimler Benz AG) progressing to the position of Manager of the Electrical Machines and Transformers Division. He joined Alcatel Cable in 1995 as manager of the Energy Network Cable Business Group. When the company split-off from the Alcatel Group in 2000 to form Nexans, he became Chairman of the Management Board for Nexans in Germany and Country Manager. From 2000 to 2004, he was also manager of the Nexans Energy Networks Business Group. Since 2005, he has supervised both Nexans’ business in the Central Europe Area and the Harnesses Business Group. Outside of Nexans, Dr Bedorf is a board member of the Association of the German Electro-Technics and Electronic Industry.
Dr Bedorf graduated as a doctor of engineering from the Technical University of Aachen.

Michel Lemaire

Michel Lemaire
Executive Vice President Asia-Pacific Area
For several years, Michel Lemaire presided the Electrical Wires Division of Nexans. Before, he was Director of Human Resources at Alcatel Telecom France from 1996 to 1998. Prior to this, from 1993 to 1995, he was Director of Human Resources and Communication at Pinault-Printemps-Redoute. He joined Saint-Gobain in 1984, also as Director of Human Resources.
Michel Lemaire is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris.

Frédéric Michelland

Frédéric Michelland

Chief Financial Officer
He started his professional career with JP Morgan and SG Warburg where he worked in trading rooms, in France and abroad. In 1996, he joined the Financial Department of the Suez Group as Corporate Finance Officer. He worked first on Mergers and Acquisitions in the frame of Suez development in the energy sector. He was then responsible of the Group’s quotation project in the United States. In 2000, he was appointed Financial Communication Director. In 2003, he moved to the head of the Financial Control Department of the Group.
Frédéric Michelland is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris and of INSEAD, with a Master's degree in Finance and an MBA.

Patrick Noonan
 
Patrick Noonan
Senior Corporate Vice President, General Counsel
Patrick Noonan is in charge of the headquarters legal, risk and insurance departments. He has been General Counsel of the Nexans Group since 2001 and Secretary of the Board of Directors. He began his professional carrier in the United States at major law firms in Washington D.C. and Palo Alto before joining Texas Instruments in France in 1985 as European Counsel. In 1988, he joined Alcatel NV (Brussels and Paris) before going to Canada in 1992 to become General Counsel of the Americas Sector of Alcatel Cable. In 1996, he became General Counsel of the Cables & Components Sector of Alcatel and in 1998 was appointed Deputy General Counsel of Alcatel.
Patrick Noonan is a graduate of Stanford University in the United States (B.S. Engineering, Juris Doctor).

Jorge Tagle
Jorge Tagle
Executive Vice President South America Area
Native from Chile, Jorge Tagle joins Nexans from Alusa SA, the Luksic Group company and leading flexible printed packaging in South American market, where he was Chief Executive Officer responsible for operations in Chile, Argentina and Peru. Before joining Alusa SA in 2005, Jorge Tagle was Chief Financial Officer for Madeco SA, also a member of the Luksic Group, which specializes in the production of copper and aluminium products, including cable operations in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Perú and Colombia.
Jorge Tagle has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in finance and strategic management.

 

Gordon Thursfield

Gordon Thursfield

Executive Vice President North America Area,
Gordon Thursfield started his career in research and development, and manufacturing management with Tube Investments Ltd, in the UK. He transferred to Canada in 1983 as Operations Manager for the Power Cable Division of Canada Wire and Cable. Canada Wire and Cable was acquired by Alcatel in 1991 and became Nexans in 2000. From 1983 to 2000, he held different positions such as General Manager responsible for all manufacturing operations in Canada, Vice-President and General Manager for the Energy group and, from 1991, President of the Energy Cables Division. In 2000, he was appointed President of Nexans Canada and Country Manager for North America.
Gordon Thursfield obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sheffield, followed by a Ph.D in Metallurgy and Materials Science from St John’s College, University of Cambridge (United-Kingdom).

Jacques Villemur

Jacques Villemur
Senior Corporate Vice President Human Resources
Jacques Villemur started his career in 1975 at the Export Department of Stein Industrie, where he held, successively, the position of Management Control Director, General Secretary (in charge, particularly, of human resources) and Chief Financial Officer. He joined Alcatel Cable in 1994 as Management Control Director of the German subsidiary. Two years later, he was appointed Vice President Planning & Finance Analysis for the Telecom Division of the Cable group. From 2001 to 2006, he was Vice President Financial Control & Consolidation within the Nexans Group. End of 2006, he joined the Corporate Human Resources Department as Corporate Vice President in charge of Career Management.
Jacques Villemur is a graduate of the French Business School HEC in Paris.
