Paris, February 14, 2007 – Due to a manufacturing defect, Nexans Norway AS is recalling Millimat comfort heating cables manufactured from October 26, 2006 to January 15, 2007 from the market with immediate effect.
No accidents or incidents have occurred to date.
The defect discovered in the cables is random and may exist in only a few cables. However, in order to prevent safety risks, Nexans Norway AS has decided to recall the Millimats manufactured during this period.
Consumers that have installed Millimat comfort heating cables manufactured during the period in question are requested to turn off the heating cables and contact an authorized electrician as quickly as possible.
Nexans considers that this recall will not have a material impact on its financial performance, as the recall concerns an estimated 3,200 rolls of cables mats of an average size 6 square meters (of which roughly half may have been already installed).
