The Nexans team dress up to make a 'Big Difference'
The team at Nexans in Milton Keynes decided to enter into the spirit of Comic Relief by turning their usual 'dress down' Friday into a special RED dress down (or dress up) Friday.
Usually on a Friday the office based team can wear jeans or casual clothes but this Friday they were wearing red t-shirts, red jumpers, red shoes as well as a variety of fancy dress outfits. Each member of staff paid £2 to dress in red or wear fancy dress on Friday 16th March in aid of Comic Relief, a presentation was made for the most innovative outfit.
And the winner is....
We had three winners! Sophia Percival and Donna Fagan from the internal sales team for their amazing Wonder Woman outfits and Debbie Paul from the accounts team as our 'showgirl'. Paul Nelson, Country Manager for the UK and Ireland, thought that all three had made such a great effort that he awarded three prizes. Staff donned their red noses and posed for photographs as the presentations were made. Staff also joined in with the Sweepstake to 'guess the celebrity' and Julie Banks, Commercial Manager was kept busy all day as she charged for her tea and coffee making skills!
Nexans matched the amount pledged by staff so just over £180 was raised!

So, why did we do it?
What do you get when you put a big red nose on a phenomenally generous UK population? A world changed for the better.
Of all the money raised on Red Nose Day, 40% will be used to help disadvantaged people and communities across the UK. Whether it be a woman who is in a violent relationship, an older person feeling incredibly alone or a young man struggling to see a way out of depression, Red Nose Day cash is helping to improve - and in some cases save - lives.
