Nexans has launched LANmark-6A, a revolutionary concept in copper cabling technology. This announcement follows closely behind the recent ratification of international standards for Category 6A covering frequency ranges up to 500MHz to support 10 Gigabit applications.
Optimising Short Link Applications
The new LANmark-6A range, supported by a newly developed connector with excellent high frequency performance, offers up to three connection points within 12 metres. This makes it an ideal solution for modern data centres that are already facing severe space problems and where overlength cable is often installed in order to comply with a traditional minimum channel length of 24 metres. By reducing this minimum length, data centres no longer need to install unneccessary excess cable therefore reducing costs whilst also saving critical space.
Benefits of LANmark-6A:
- 10 Gigabit over at least 100m
- Short distance support removes the need for overlength patchcords
- Easy to install; smaller diameter and tighter bend radius than most UTP solutions
- 360° screening for complete alien crosstalk immunity.
- No expensive field-testing of alien crosstalk is required
- Compliant with latest standards (TIA 568B.2-10, Cat6A and ISO/IEC 11801 A1, Class EA).
