The new HQ was opened by the Rt. Hon. Alistair Darling MP, Secretary of State for Transport, following the relocation from the old premises in Tavistock place.
Over 2200 outlets were installed in the new HQ during the heightened security following the London bombings, adding further impetus to ensure completion of the project on schedule and with minimum disruption. The roll-out programme at the other locations nationwide required a high level of project management from Avente and support from Nexans supply chain to ensure delivery to a wide range of locations against tight timescales.
Ravinder Singh Saund of the British Transport Police commented, “Avente and Nexans were awarded the project based on their ability to deliver a quality product and installation both to budget and on time”.
