 '1-2-Fly' is a subsiduary of World of TUI and offers tourist travel and holidays in over 1200 hotels worldwide.
The travel business is heavily dependent on publicity and media content, with frequent full colour catalogue updates and growing demand for multimedia solutions to share the holiday experience with potential clients. These needs already place high demands on the infrastructure, and in addition, reliability is essential to ensure constant access to real time booking systems.
For these reasons 1-2-Fly decided that the additional cost of a Category 7 solution would give a fast payback in terms of the reliability and service they could offer to their customers whilst ensuring they were equiped with guaranteed 10 Gigabit capacity for future expansion.
Following discussions with Wahl & Co, a Nexans partner, 1-2-Fly decided to install the Nexans LANmark-7 solution using the backward compatible GG45. Over a four month installation period, 5 floors were cabled using 3200 LANmark-7 GG45 snap-in connectors.
The installation has now been completed with minimal disruption and handed over to the delighted owners.
